Tin Toys by Anson Cameron

Hunter Carolyn began life as a black baby and was turned into a white boy before turning back into a black youth and finally a white man.

When Hunter's accidentally-created Uluru-painting becomes a contender for the new republican flag, he's turned black again. And when they find him black, people are happy to console him about the problems of his race, and the nightmare of his recent history. But only as a prelude to unleashing their own troubles on him.

His mother lost, his father trapped, his lover disappeared, his encounters fraught - Hunter heads towards the flag awards on Australia Day and his meeting with the Prime Minister, with both past and future as burdens.

A vintage book that does not look new and has been read but is in excellent condition. No obvious damage to the cover. There are tiny droplets of discolouring on some of the pages, which are mostly only visible on the book's block when book is shut. Very minimal wear and tear.
