Something Happened by Joseph Heller
Joseph Heller's other masterpiece - a darkly comic, sometimes tragic satire that does for the American Dream what Catch-22 did for the madness of war.
Bob Slocum was a promising executive. He had an attractive wife, three children, a nice house, and as many mistresses as he desired. His life was settled and ordered; he had conformed and society demanded he be happy - or at least pretend to be. But the pretence was becoming more and more difficult, as Slocum's discontent grew into an overwhelming sense of desolation, frustration and fear.

A vintage book with obvious wear. Has some damage to the cover, including creasing, scuff marks and scratches, and a faint stain along the fore-edge of the back cover, but integrity still intact. A previous owner has written 40- in blue pen at the top of the first page, in ver small lettering, but no other writing in margins. No underlining or highlighting of text. There is some creasing towards the back of the book, and 3 stains that have sunk through and left faint stains on most of the pages in the book. None of which compromises the legibility or understanding of the text. No missing pages. Still a good solid and readable copy.
