Hitchcock and Selznick: The Rich and Strange Collaboration of Alfred Hitchcock and David O. Selznick in Hollywood by Leonard J. Leff
Winner of the B. F. I. Book Award 1988
"Take one authentic genius (Alfred Hitchcock) and one pseudo-genius (David Selznick), cast them as partners in a glamorous, high-stakes game - the movie game -and you have the formula for comedy and drama on a grand scale. Leonard Leff has told this archetypal tale from Hollywood's Golden Era with impeccable scholarship and in a deft, demythifying, and wonderfully readable style." - Richard Schickel
"Hitchcock and Selznick is a fascinating account of a collision between giants... packed with quirky incidents - how Hitch coaxed tears from Joan Fontaine an Rebecca, how Selznick juggled studio deals with his contract artists - the book fills in a fascinating corner of movie history." - The Financial Times

A vintage book with obvious wear. Has some damage to the cover, including minor scuff marks along the edges, and a tear on the top of the spine (see pic. 5), but integrity still intact. No writing in margins, no underlining, but minor highlighting of text. The first 6, and last 3 pages in the book have blotches of discolouring, but no missing pages or anything else that would compromise the legibility or understanding of the text. Still a clean, solid and readable copy.
