Martin J. Sherwin was a Professor of History at George Mason University. His other books include A World Destroyed, winner of the Stuart L. Bernath and the American History Book Prize, and Gambling with Armageddon.

A book that has been read but is in good condition. Very minimal damage to the cover including very minor scuff marks along the edges, and a very thin strip of laminating has started to come unstuck on the fore-edge of both the front and back covers, but no holes or tears. The majority of pages are undamaged with very minimal creasing (minor creasing on the first page in book only), but no tearing. No pencil underlining of text, no highlighting of text and no writing in margins. No missing pages.
