A landmark guide to the spiritual journey by a respected Zen teacher and psychotherapist, this book brings together ancient Eastern traditions and the Western view of the soul and offers a new understanding and vivid description of the depths and heights of our inner landscape.

John Tarrant uses real-life stories from his work as a psychotherapist and Zen teacher to illuminate his discoveries, showing us how to live fully through difficulty and discover deep joy in all aspects of everyday life. Nothing in life has to be shut off or denied - pleasure, anguish, desire and contentment all form a part of the soul's great quest.

A vintage book with obvious wear. Has some damage to the cover including scuff marks and creasing, but integrity still intact. The binding may be slightly damaged but integrity is still intact. There are 20 pages in the book with writing in margins and underlining (3 pages using black pen, 17 pages in green pencil), the worst of which can be seen on pic 3.  No missing pages or anything that would compromise the legibility or understanding of the text. Still a strong, readable copy.
