Three Australian Plays by Alan Seymour

Third edition of a book first published in 1963.

Alrene Sykes' introduction provides a concise historical and biographical background to the playwrights and their works.

Contains the works of Alan Seymour, 'The One Day of the Year'; Douglas Stewart, 'Ned Kelly'; and Hal Porter, 'The Tower'.

'The One Day of the Year' (revised some 25 years after the first performance) remains a classic Australian drama and 'Ned Kelly', originally broadcast as a radio play in 1942, provides a balanced approach to the Kelly legend. 'The Tower' represents the modern era of Australian melodramas.

Condition: Good

A vintage book that has been read but is in good condition. Some damage to the cover including minor scuff marks, creasing and scratches, but no holes or tears. The majority of pages are undamaged with very minimal creasing but no tearing. No pencil underlining of text, and no highlighting of text. At the top-right corner of the first page a previous owner has written the following in black biro: "FONTANE LAU, URIO, HK". No other writing in margins. There is also very minor yellowing bordering all the pages, none of which compromises the legibility of the text. No missing pages. Still a very clean, solid, and readable copy.
